Captain Whip Whitaker (Denzel Washington) is living life to it's
fullest, having a passionate affair with airline stewardess Katerina
Marquez (Nadine Velazquez). After another steamy night, Whitaker uses
cocaine in an attempt to wake himself up from a night fuelled by alcohol
so he can pilot a flight to Atlanta. Onboard, Whitaker mixes himself a
drink with his co-pilot Ken Evans (Brian Geraghty) failing to notice.
Giving the control's to Evans so he can sleep, Whitaker is woken by a
huge jolt through the plane as it begin's to nose dive. Assuming the
control's, Whitaker manage's to crash land the airline. Having saved the
live's of 98 of the 102 on board, an investigation is ordered and soon
more worrying facts are revealed.
